Description

Fluke 1587 Insulation Multimeter Calibration and Repair

The Fluke 1587 is an insulation multimeter — it combines a digital insulation resistance tester (megohmmeter, to 1000 V) with a full true-RMS multimeter (AC/DC voltage, resistance, capacitance, frequency, temperature) in one handheld for advanced electrical troubleshooting. Its accuracy depends on the high-voltage insulation generator and the DMM measurement circuitry (including the temperature input), which is where repair and calibration focus.

FlukeMeterRepair.com repairs and calibrates the Fluke 1587 for electricians and maintenance teams.

Common Fluke 1587 problems we fix

  • Temperature-sensor / input degradation — the temperature function reading inaccurately, the input recalibrated (or sensor replaced).
  • Insulation-test / HV generator faults — won’t reach the insulation test voltage or the reading drifts, repaired and recalibrated against standards.
  • DMM function faults — a multimeter function dead or inaccurate, often after an overload, repaired and recalibrated.
  • Input protection blown — repaired after a miswire.
  • Display or battery faults.

FAQs

My 1587 insulation, temperature, or meter reads wrong — fixable? Yes. HV-generator, sensor, and DMM faults are repairable, then every function is recalibrated so all readings are accurate, with a NIST-traceable certificate.

Do you calibrate all functions? Yes — insulation, temperature, and multimeter functions are checked against our standards.

Every repair includes NIST-traceable calibration and a 90-day parts-and-labor warranty. Email us or request service.
