Description
Fluke 1555 Insulation Meter Repair
The Fluke 1555 is a 10 kV insulation resistance tester (megohmmeter) — it applies selectable DC test voltages up to 10 kV and measures very high insulation resistance with diagnostic tests (PI/DAR) for high-voltage motors, cables, and apparatus. The hardworking part is the high-voltage generator, so that’s where most faults originate.
FlukeMeterRepair.com repairs and calibrates the Fluke 1555 for motor shops, cable testers, and electrical maintenance crews.
Common Fluke 1555 problems we fix
- HV generator faults — won’t reach the selected test voltage or output is low, repaired so it hits full 10 kV.
- Measurement drift — insulation-resistance readings drifting, recalibrated against standards.
- Diagnostic tests not calculating — PI/DAR functions, restored.
- Display, battery, or terminal faults — repaired.
- Won’t power on — power/battery faults.
FAQs
My 1555 won’t reach 10 kV — fixable? Yes. HV generator faults are the usual cause and they’re repairable, then verified so the tester delivers full rated voltage and your readings are valid, with a NIST-traceable certificate.
Are the diagnostic ratios verified? Yes — PI/DAR are checked along with recalibration.
Every repair includes NIST-traceable calibration and a 90-day parts-and-labor warranty. Email us or request service.

Our Fluke 1555 outputs readings became erratic slowly. It became obvious we could not trust the readings, so we had to send in for repair and calibration. We were very content with the process with the emails, repair inquiry, repair estimate, repair invoice. All very situated and concise as well as the results received when our insulation tester was returned. IOS-9001 certification was in order as well.
